Print a rectangular area of the current drawing. The printed drawing is
scaled by the current drawing scale. A
and optionally the drawing outlines, the paper border and the paper

In general, a printer is not able to print up to the sheet edges.
This is shown in the following image on the left side where the
printable area is in white and the non-printable border area
is shown in gray.
There are two options for the position of the section to be printed:
- Placement in the printing range: The upper left corner of the
rectangular section is placed in the upper left corner of the printable area.
If the section lies within the printable area, it will be printed in full.
- Placement on the page: The upper left corner of the rectangular section
to be printed is placed in the upper left corner of the page.
Thus, a section the size of the page can be printed in its correct position.
Obviously the non-printable border area will appear to be covered, like by a passepartout.
Consider a drawing of A4 size that is to be printed on a sheet of equal size.
The image below demonstrates the two possible outcomes:
- Left picture: If the drawing frame is placed on the top left corner
of the printable area, then the drawing is placed incorrectly
and the area is cut off at the bottom right.
- Right picture: If the drawing frame is placed on the upper left
corner of the sheet, then the drawing frame is placed correctly.
The printing in the area of unprintable passpartout is neither possible nor
necessary in this case .
